Poison-free Mouse & Richmond Rat Control

Use Of Rodenticide In Richmond

Concerns over the effects of anticoagulant rodenticides on local wildlife have prompted over a dozen cities in B.C. to ban their use. These poisons, which cause the rat or mouse to slowly bleed to death, have been responsible for the deaths of owls and other predators that eat the dying rodents. In order to safeguard against further harm to wildlife and, potentially children, poison-free and environmentally conscious alternatives are being put to use.

City of Richmond

Richmond Council is considering a ban on the use of anticoagulant rodenticides on city property and at the July 20, 2020 meeting referred this matter to City of Richmond staff for analysis.
